Using TanglePatterns string 049. This is the first Zentangle in my new sketchbook, the Canson 180º Art Book, which is pretty great. For this Zentangle I used a much larger grid than usual, which I think worked nicely.

Zentangle #52
Using TanglePatterns string 048 and patterns Knightsbridge and Annee. Trying out a new pattern, Annee, which is cute. Also, this Zentangle marks the end of my first sketchbook. Yes, I did rip out a few pages when I made catastophic mistakes, but here it is, my first 52 Zentangles contained in one little book. I […]
Zentangle #51
Using TanglePatterns string 047 and patterns Onamato and Fricle. Shame my hand isn’t steadier… usually it’s not too bad, but occasionally it goes wonky. Otherwise I find this one quite pleasing.
Zentangle #49
Using TanglePatterns string 045 and patterns Bunzo, Chainging and Strircles. Lesson learned! You don’t have to fill the square! I thought with the complexity of this string that the Zentangle would not work out, but I think it did. Perhaps balancing the complexity of the string with the simplicity of the patterns is what did […]
Zentangle #48
Using TanglePatterns string 044 and variations on the Fife pattern. This wasn’t quite as effective as I’d hoped. Perhaps I shouldn’t have tried to fill the square… That’s something I’m learning, you don’t have to fill the square!
Zentangle #47
Using TanglePatterns string 043 and patterns Ansu, Hi-Cs, and Fife. I often make the mistake of making grid-based patterns too small, so this time I made Fife really big. I quite like it, although something in between this and my usual grid size is probably best.
