Zentangle #12

August 7, 2014 · Leave a Comment

This one was really challenging. I think it was partly the intricate string and then I went with a fairly intricate main pattern, which left me struggling to find a suitable background/filler pattern. The KISS principle really applies at times like these! Simple circles and hatching were much better than the other pattern I started […]

Zentangle #11

I don’t looove this one, but I like that my ability to create more perspective is developing. Using string 008 from tanglepatterns.com and patterns scallops, feathers, plait and cubine.

Zentangle #10: Lucy

August 4, 2014 · Leave a Comment

A friend playfully suggested that I create a Zentangle based on the movie Lucy… And I thought why not? If you’ve seen the movie I think you’ll understand the ideas of particles, atoms, tentacles and structures. This tangle is based on string 007 from tanglepatterns.com and uses patterns Perlz, Squid and K-Ning.

Zentangle #7

Using string 004 from tanglepatterns.com and patterns punzel, bunzo, and floatfest. I’m a bit rubbish at chainging and its variation punzel. I’ll practice those.

Zentangle #6: The Garden

Using string 003 from tanglepatterns.com and patterns rain, zinger, aura-leah, finery, poke-leaf, chainging, and some buds that don’t seem to have a particular name. I ended up drawing half of this upside down in my notebook, which bothered me, but as Zentangles are not really supposed to have one way up it was a nice […]

Zentangle #5 an experiment of squares

July 21, 2014 · Leave a Comment

I’m not loving this one so much, but I wanted to see what I could do with a very curved string and square patterns. I used string 002 from tanglepatterns.com and drew a grid in pen across all of it. I probably should have done my grid in stages, but this was an interesting challenge. […]
